Manchester City beat Southampton on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon to equal a 63-year-old record by scoring more than three goals for nine successive home games.
The record was previously set by Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1959, with the Midlands side recording nine successive matches at Molineux in which they scored more than three goals.
At the time, Wolves were the leading side in the country, winning the English top flight in both the 1957/58 and 1958/59 seasons.
Iconic English centre-back Billy Wright led Wolves on their way to that record, with their title win coming at the end of the season.
