Manager Erik ten Hag believes Manuel Ugarte will provide the "controlled aggression" that Manchester United have been lacking after the midfielder finalised his move to Old Trafford.
United wrapped up the signing of the Uruguayan international on deadline day evening, signing him on a five-year deal, featuring the option of a sixth.
He has joined the club from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal that is initially worth €50million (£42.3m), with a further €10m (£8.5m) due in add-ons.
Ugarte, 23, was the club's primary midfield target throughout the transfer window. They were happy to play a patient game to lure him to Old Trafford after being reluctant to match PSG's initial demand of €60m (£50.6m).
