Hibs have hit the button to turn Elie Youan's loan deal into a permanent stay in Leith. Record Sport revealed last week the Easter Road club were set to make their move on the six-figure agreement in place with parent club St Gallen.

And Hibs have now activated that option with the French forward agreeing a three-year deal. Youan has netted seven times in 33 appearances for Lee Johnson’s side since joining on loan from the Swiss side last summer.

A burst of form that saw him net six times since the end of January including in Saturday’s 2-1 win over St Mirren helped catapult the Easter Road club back into the top six as they fight for a European spot.

With seven Premiership assists he’s also among the leading top flight creators. Johnson admitted he's delighted to get the the 24-year-old tied down long term.
