Player-boss Aaron Connolly helped East Kilbride Thistle end a run of six games without a win after his Jags twice came from behind to sink Dalry Thistle.

The striker netted for the hosts before Adam Edgar hit a double and James Scott netted in a 4-2 victory at the Showpark. Connolly’s side came from 1-0 and 2-1 down to triumph in the West of Scotland Third Division clash and they moved up one spot in the table to 10th, thanks to just their second win of 2023.

Connolly contributed but he heaped praise on his squad for doing most of the work in an impressive second half performance, as they built upon last week’s controversial 4-4 draw at Carluke Rovers where they ended the game with nine men and let a 4-2 lead slip.

He said: “I managed to play an hour or so on Saturday and get a goal, but I went off at 2-2 so the boys who came on went and made a difference to win the game for us. “It’s not really where I want to be.
