Motherwell have been handed an opening day visit to SWPL2 champions Dundee United, while Hamilton Accies will host Aberdeen for their first big test of season 2022/23.

The forthcoming campaign, which gets underway on Sunday, August 7, marks a new era for women's football in Scotland, as it is the first of the newly-created competitions which are now under the responsibility of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL).

Motherwell follow that fixture up with a visit by Glasgow CIty on August 14, while Hamilton are at Hibs. The first derby between the sides is at Hamilton on November 27.

In SWPL2, newcomers Garcairn host newly-promoted East Fife on the opening day, while Queen's Park travel to St Johnstone. Fiona McIntyre, interim managing director of the SWPL said: "It is a hugely exciting moment to finally be releasing this season's SWPL fixture list. "This will be the first season of the SWPL under the responsibility of the SPFL, and we believe this is a significant moment for the continued growth of the game in this country. "Women’s football in Scotland has gone from strength to strength in recent times, and everyone will be working hard to maximise the potential of the league in the months and years ahead. "We can’t wait for this season’s action to get underway, and we wish all our clubs the best of luck for the season ahead.” "The complete fixture list can be found in the news section of the SPFL website here.
