Derry City hold Shamrock Rovers to a draw as Shelbourne lose to Galway

breakingnews.ie

Derry City and Shamrock Rovers played out a 1-1 draw at the Brandywell on Friday night, leaving the Dublin side in third place in the table, four points behind Derry City and seven off Shelbourne.

The deciding factor in the game was a penalty to Derry in the 90th minute that was a major talking point for pundits and commentators.

The draw will come as a relief to Shelbourne, who were defeated in Galway's Terryland Park by 1-0. Elsewhere, Bohemians lost at home to Drogheda United 1-0, while St Patrick's Athletic won 3-0 at home in Richmond Park to Waterford FC.
