Danny Murphy has taken a Scottish football potshot as he weighed in on Celtic's Champions League campaign. Two late goals from Ciro Immobile sent Brendan Rodgers' side tumbling out of Europe's top competition with a 2-0 defeat, eliminated before matchday six for the second consecutive campaign.
They play Feyenoord at Parkhead in their final match of the group stage in Europe, with third and Europa League football also now out of reach.
Rodgers made the call for quality in the aftermath of defeat in Rome and admitted Celtic needed an extra touch of star power if they were to come out on top at the highest level.
But former Liverpool midfielder Murphy has linked their plight on the continent back to what they are facing week-to-week in Scotland.
