Danilo admits he can’t wait to be reunited with the man he was signed to replace at Feyenoord. Cyriel Dessers was on his way out of the Eredivisie giants and on his way to Italy last year just as Rangers’ new Brazilian ace was checking into the Rotterdam club.

Their only previous meeting before that came when Danilo made his debut for former side Ajax - with Dessers coming out on top as he bagged the winner during a 2020 Dutch league clash while on loan at Heracles Almelo.

But now they are looking forward to playing together regularly with the Ibrox side. Danilo said: “I just met him when I arrived at Feyenoord, and then he left!

I played against him, I actually made my debut against him and he scored that day. I have only ever played against him. Now here at Rangers I have the chance to play alongside him.
