Erik ten Hag's revolution at Manchester United hasn't started as many had hoped and Cristiano Ronaldo's reported request to leave should a suitable offer be placed has only made matters worse.

The club finished a disappointing sixth last season as they failed to qualify for the Champions League. The Manchester Evening News understands that United's stance on Ronaldo is that he is not for sale and they fully expect him to see out the rest of his contract.

The forward was meant to report back to pre-season training on Monday but was absent due to family reasons. The Ronaldo news is potentially the beginning of an unwanted saga for Ten Hag.

Some United fans are concerned that Ronaldo might be leaving, while others are happy that the forward could be on his way out but are worried that the club will be unable to secure a suitable replacement.
