Creetown ended a 14 year wait for silverware on Friday night. The Castle Cary Park side beat Mid Annandale 3-1 in the South of Scotland League Cup final to bring the trophy back along the A75 from Galabank in Annan.

Boss Jamie Adams said: “It’s big for the club, it’s been a while since they’ve had a wee bit of success. I’m happy for them but I’m delighted for the players as the effort they’ve put in since the start of the season has been brilliant. “I don’t do that much.

It’s all down to them and it’s them that got the trophy so it’s all down to them.” Glen Mitchell headed Creetown in front five minutes before the break but Peter Mendy scored the equaliser minutes later.

Just before the hour mark, Josh Rennie curled home to put Creetown back in front before a fine goal from Joe McMillan sealed the win.
