Coronation Street star Cherylee Houston has admitted tears in the soap were 'real' as she said goodbye to her co-star both on-screen and off.

The actress took to social media to address the recent exit of Lisa George from the ITV soap. Cherylee, who plays Weatherfield's Izzy Armstrong, was involved in waving off Lisa's character Beth Tinker when her final scenes aired last Friday (August 30).

Just after Christmas, reports emerged that Lisa was set to leave the long-running show. The rumours have continued and it wasn't until she appeared on This Morning last week, days before her final scenes aired in the long-running show.
