Chris Weidman has confirmed he isn’t retiring from mixed martial arts and still wants to push for a UFC comeback. Within the context of the best middleweights in UFC history, Chris Weidman is a name that many would consider to be in the mix.
You certainly wouldn’t think it from his recent record, though, given that he’s on a 2-6 stretch in his last eight – with five of those defeats coming via knockout.
The latest, however, went down in April 2021 at UFC 261. Weidman was coming off the back of a much needed win over Omari Akhmedov and when put up against Uriah Hall, a man he’d already beaten a decade prior on the regional scene, his hope was that he could try and build some momentum on his way to another crack at the title. It served as a cruel irony for the man who had inflicted a similar injury on Anderson Silva back in the day, with the popular opinion being that Weidman wouldn’t compete again after such a notable setback.
