It was a massive night for Celtic as they returned to Europe's top table - and the fans knew it before a ball was even kicked.

And the roar that greeted Brendan Rodgers’ men and Slovan Bratislava as the Champions League anthem played out at Celtic Park left one mascot covering his ears - while the Hoops' stars lapped up the cauldron their fans had created.

Things only got better once the first whistle sounded in Glasgow's east end at the Scottish Premiership leaders steamrolled the Slovakian champions to get their league phase campaign off to a perfect start.

Liam Scales put Celtic on the path to victory before Kyogo’s strike early in the second half doubled the lead. Things went from bad to worse for the visitors as Arne Engels netted from the penalty spot.
