Carlo Ancelotti says Karim Benzema has grown into a “leader” since Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from Real Madrid in 2018. The Frenchman was arguably always overshadowed by Ronaldo after both joined Los Blancos in the summer of 2009.
The Portugal captain scored 450 goals in 438 games for Real to become the club’s all-time top scorer. He picked up four of his five Ballon d’Ors while at Madrid while lifting four Champions Leagues, two La Liga titles and two Copa del Reys.

He has scored an average of 33 goals a season since, and netted 44 times in last year’s Champions League and La Liga title-winning campaign.
