Captain Bruno Fernandes said Manchester United travelled to the Allianz Arena to face Bayern Munich on Wednesday night with the intention dominating the game.

The Reds fell to their third successive defeat in all competitions, losing 4-3 in a pulsating contest in Germany. They found themselves 2-0 down by half-time before Rasmus Hojlund netted his first goal for the club to provide a glimmer of hope.

However Bayern, who are one of the favourites to win the UEFA Champions League this season, restored their two-goal cushion just four minutes later thanks to a Harry Kane penalty.

Casemiro then scored two late goals either side of a smart finish from Mathys Tel, to give the scoreline a more respectable look.
