Nick Ball hopes to defend his WBA featherweight world title this evening, taking on Ronny Rios at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool.
The 27-year-old hometown hero is riding a 21 fight unbeaten streak at present, consisting of 20 wins over top opponents like Jesus Ramirez Rubio, Isaac Dogboe and Ludumo Lamati, as well as a sole draw with Rey Vargas earlier this year.
While Ball has only just acquainted himself with the featherweight strap this summer - beating Raymond Ford via split decision in June - he will have to best an incredibly tough Rios this evening if he wants to keep a hold of it.
Rios has racked up an impressive record of 34-4 in his career as a professional boxer, with 17 knockouts to his name. And while he's seven years older than Ball, the American has shown that he still has quick hands and incredible power in the squared circle, achieving a fifth-round knockout over Nicolas Polanko in April.
