Former Celtic hero Kieran Tierney has left Arsenal to join La Liga side Real Sociedad on a season-long loan. The 26-year-old from Muirhouse has been frozen out by the London club recently, watching their first three Premier League games from the stands after being left out of the squad.
But the Scotland international has been given a chance to kick-start his career at a club that will offer Champions League group stages football, and sits 12th in the La Liga table after three games.
Despite not being in Mikel Arteta's plans, Tierney has always been popular with fans at the Emirates, where he is contracted until 2026.
He said in a social media message: "Thank you to everyone for your support as always. Grateful." Tierney, who was linked with a possible move back to Celtic this summer, could make his debut against Granada on Saturday at the Reale Arena, before jetting to Cyprus on Scotland duty.
