Arsenal have been dealt an injury blow to club captain Martin Odegaard with the clash against Manchester City on the horizon.

City are not due to face Arsenal in the Premier League until September 22. Pep Guardiola's side will take on Brentford this weekend in the first match after the international break, before hosting Inter Milan in the Champions League next midweek.

The clash at the Etihad Stadium later this month will be the first chance to see last season's title rivals go head-to-head this term.

However, it seems that Arsenal will be without one of their key players when they face City. Odegaard suffered an ankle injury during an appearance for Norway on Monday night in the Nations League.
