Celtic have reportedly AGREED a deal with FC Augsburg to sign Arne Engels that will see them smash their club transfer record.

The Belgian is Brendan Rodgers' top target to replace Matt O'Riley after he joined Brighton for a record-breaking fee - and he now looks to have finally got his man.

Sky Sports report that CEO Michael Nicholson and Augsburg boss Michael Stroll have finalised a £10.9m package that will see the 20-year-old join the Scottish Premiership champions.

It is noted that the Bundesliga side will hold a 20 per cent sell on in the deal. Celtic had seen two previous bids knocked back for the attacking midfielder but have now landed on a figure with the medical set for Friday ahead of the looming deadline after Engels wanted the switch to Celtic Park.
