Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has looked to ease concerns over an injury to Cameron Carter-Vickers for the end of season run-in.

The 57-year-old knows his champions elect are racing toward a second consecutive Scottish Premiership crown as the prepare to face Motherwell at Celtic Park but fears over the fitness of key defender Carter-Vickers have ramped up after the American international missed the clash with Kilmarnock.

The United States national team revealed last month Carter-Vickers had pulled out of their squad with a knee injury. The Parkhead medical team are monitoring the player before making a decision on his involvement over the rest of the campaign with the defender facing surgery once the league title is claimed.

The 25-year-old reported for training at Lennoxtown ahead of the clash with the Steelmen in Glasgow's east end. Speaking ahead of Saturday's game Postecoglou was swerved any fears over the centre-back seeing out the season.
