Alexis Mac Allister makes admission about Brighton's late victory over Manchester United

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister admitted the Seagulls "did everything" they could but were unable to find a way past a stubborn Manchester United defence before being awarded a late penalty in their win over the Reds.

The Argentine converted from the spot in the ninth minute of added-time at the Amex Stadium, with Roberto De Zerbi's men securing an important 1-0 victory over United.

For Erik ten Hag's side, the result sees them remain two points behind third-placed Newcastle, having now played the same number of games.

The Reds appeared as though they would be returning to Manchester with a point, but Luke Shaw handled the ball inside the penalty area to gift the home side a chance to win the game - which they took.
