A major incident declared with bomb disposal units at the scene, worried families evacuated from their homes, a murder probe after the tragic death of a 21-year-old and a reported shooting.

In the last 24 hours, Greater Manchester has faced scenes of violence, horror and fear. Across parts of the region, emergency services have attended a number of serious incidents.

The first was on Wednesday evening (May 31) when police cordoned off a street in Old Trafford where a young man, now identified as Salah Eldin Adam, was found seriously injured and declared dead by first responders.

And the following day, Thursday, June 1, a man in the Hulme area had a weapon seized as the murder probe continued. Elsewhere, bomb disposal units erected a huge cordon around multiple streets in the Reddish area of Stockport after 'suspected hazardous materials' were uncovered in a house.
