Zinedine Zidane: Real Madrid icon was even elegant when falling off a horse
Zinedine Zidane is undoubtedly one of the greatest footballers of all-time.
The legend, who bore the badges of Juventus and Real Madrid for large swathes of his career, won everything there was to win in the game.
Whether it was an individual or team award, for club or for country, Zidane has quite frankly won the lot.
But it’s not his tangible achievements that fans remember when it comes to Zizou but how he made the game look.
Standing 6ft 2in from the ground the imposing Frenchman should have been a bully. A brute who threw his weight about and probably ought to be playing in defensive midfield.
However, Zidane couldn’t have been any further the opposite. He gracefully glided about the pitch like he was walking on water, dazzling opponents with his quick feet and gravity-defying level of balance.
His first touch was so good he may as well have had super glue on his laces. And he just had an aura that suggested there was something slightly different about the man.
So, it doesn’t come as too much of a surprise when you scroll down Twitter and see the now 50-year-old performing some type of absolutely bonkers army roll after falling off a horse.
Well, actually it does. But if there was ever going to be an ex-pro to do such a thing it would almost certainly be Zizou.
The bizarre viral clip has accumulated over 13,000 retweets so far, as well as a monstrous 151,000 likes.
