WWE star hadn't pinned anyone in two years prior to victory on Raw this week

Chad Gable is doing some great work right now, and the former picked up a very important win on Monday Night Raw this week.

On this week’s episode of Raw, Alpha Academy competed in a rather entertaining ‘Quiz Bowl’ segment with RK-Bro to kick off the show.

Following on from that, the Raw Tag Team Champions defeated Street Profits in tag team competition, with Chad Gable picking up the win by pinning Angelo Dawkins.

While people may not have noticed it at the time, the result was notable for a rather interesting, as Ringside News has now pointed out.

The site notes that prior to his victory on WWE Raw this week, Chad Gable hadn’t actually successfully pinned anyone on TV since June 2020.

Prior to pinning Dawkins, the last time Gable actually pinned someone was at the June 15 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, when Chad pinned former WWE Superstar Mojo Rawley.

The pinfall victory was so long ago that Chad Gable was actually going by his infamous ‘Shorty G’ moniker at the time, which was debuted the year prior.

It’s important to note that Gable has won matches on TV lately, but those have come with Otis picking up the win, so this week was the first time that Gable actually secured the victory.

Gable also pinned Riddle at live events over the last few months, but again, those pinfall victories were not on TV.

Chad Gable is being heavily praised across wrestling media as of late for his performances as part of the Alpha Academy, with many feeling that Gable is on the run of his career right now alongside Otis.

Gable has been able to show that he’s not only a great wrestler, but also one of the most naturally charismatic and funny guys on the WWE roster.
