WWE: Mouth-watering dream match teased at recent house show

WWE could have some rather exciting plans for Gunther and Drew McIntyre if reports from this weekend’s Live Events are to be believed.

At a house show this weekend, Intercontinental Champion Gunther defeated former champion Ricochet in a singles match.

Fans at the show in Bridgeport, Connecticut were then given a bit of a treat, with Drew McIntyre coming down to save Ricochet from a post-match attack from the big Austrian.

This is incredibly exciting for WWE fans, with a dream match between Gunther and McIntyre being one that fans have wanted to see for quite some time now.

While both men have not yet crossed paths since both being moved to SmackDown in April, fans are clamouring to see the two big men share the ring in the future.

While there’s no word on if WWE is actually planning on bringing this feud to TV, what goes down at non-televised house shows is usually a good indication of the company’s plans for the future.

Gunther has reportedly impressed people within WWE, so the prospect of him being involved in a high-profile feud with McIntyre really isn’t that unlikely.

The prospect of a feud between the two has probably increased now that Triple H is running WWE too, with ‘The Game’ being a big fan of both men from their time with him in NXT.

It’s worth noting however that the mouth-watering feud, if it does happen, probably won’t make its way to TV anytime soon.

Drew is currently feuding with Sheamus, which is expected to lead to a match at SummerSlam, which will spin off into the Scotsman working with Roman Reigns at Clash at the Castle, which has been rumoured for months now.
