The Undertaker: WWE legend looked so different before becoming 'The Deadman'

The Undertaker will go down as one of, if not the most iconic WWE Superstar of all time. His entire look was iconic from his American Badass days to his more recent synonymous Montana hat a long leather coat.

Anyone who knows the WWE will know who the Undertaker is, with the Deadman finally getting inducted into the Hall of Fame recently. He’s taken a step back from the ring, but says never say never about a return, what we’d do to hear those gongs with the lights going to black once again.

Like any Superstar, the Undertaker played around with a few personas before hitting gold with how we all know him, but even before he was the Undertaker, Mark Calaway was wrestling but under a different name altogether.

Way back in 1990, he challenged Kex Luger who was the U.S. Champion at the time at WCW’s Great American Bash event. He fought under the name ‘Mean Mark’ and was accompanied to the ring by his manager, Paul E. Dangerously.

Walking to the ring, his walk-on music is also a shock to us all that know him well, instead of the iconic ‘Rest In Peace’ it was rock song Heavenly Thunder (1) by Christopher Andrew Tsangarides, what a contrast.

His manager tried to help Mark secure a cheap win over Luger, whilst the referee was down after Mark accidently kicked him in the head, Dangerously intervened.

The manager ran into the ring, taking Luger down after hitting him in the ribs with a phone, after getting the referee to come round, Mark almost had the pin count, but Luger broke out in the nick of time.

After a brutal clothesline, Luger managed to pin Mean Mark to retain his title, it wasn’t to be for Mark that night, but his career went on to become astronomical, winning a plethora of titles and accolades after signing with the
