WWE interested in bringing back current AEW stars

WWE, according to reports, is interested in bringing two current AEW stars back into the company.

Fightful Select is reporting that WWE is interested in signing FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) to contracts once their AEW deals expire.

WWE has expressed interest internally about possibly bringing back the team formerly known as The Revival

Wheeler and Harwood used to work for WWE, being under contract from 2014 and 2012 respectively until their releases in 2020.

The pair worked as The Revival for WWE, and while they did move up to the main roster for three years, they enjoyed most of their success down in NXT.

As noted, the pair were granted their releases from WWE in April 2020, and went on to wrestle for AEW the following year.

The former Raw, SmackDown and NXT Tag Team Champions apparently rejected huge offers to stay with WWE, which are believed to have been worth around $1 million per year each.

Fightful initially said that the pair’s contracts with AEW were set to expire this summer, but people within the promotion reached out to say they have over a year left on their current deals.

It seems like there could be some smoke to this. As can be seen above, Harwood didn’t rule out a WWE return when asked about it last month.

While taking part in a Twitter Q&A last month, the 37-year-old said that if the circumstances and money were right, he’d consider a return to WWE.

FTR are the reigning AAA Tag Team Champions, as well as the ROH Tag Team Champions, and many fans expect them to fight for the AEW Tag Team Championship at some stage this year too.
