Wout Weghorst desperate for more trophies at Manchester United as second Wembley trip sought

Wout Weghorst is hoping victory over Fulham will offer Manchester United another trip to Wembley but the Dutchman insists getting there means nothing without winning trophies.

United host Fulham in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday afternoon, looking to earn a second date at Wembley following February's Carabao Cup triumph. Erik ten Hag's side beat Newcastle in the final at the end of that month, with goals from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford sealing a first trophy in six years.

"The FA Cup is definitely in our head to go to Wembley again, and not only play in the semi and the final, but to win it.”

Many United fans spotted a lovely moment after the Carabao Cup win, with Weghorst enjoying a moment by himself to take in the atmosphere. That was the 30-year-old's first major trophy of a long and otherwise excellent career at both domestic and international level.

“When we won it and the trophy was ours, I took a moment to enjoy it and I saw the crowd," the Dutchman added. "These are the moments you will remember, and that is why I did it.
