Wolves manager Bruno Lage confirms position on Sheffield United loanee Morgan Gibbs-White

Wolves manager Bruno Lage has once again hinted at a summer return to Molineux for Sheffield United loanee Morgan Gibbs-White.

The 22-year-old has been brilliant for the play-off chasing Blades since joining on loan, with 10 goals and eight assists in 33 Championship appearances. He has quickly become a fan-favourite around Bramall Lane for his direct running and creativity.

And Lage has been keeping a sharp eye on Gibbs-White, among several other loanees, with the desire to integrate those who are ready for Premier League football.

Lage told Birmingham Live : "It comes from the project of the club and first we will look at what we have here. If the guys are still motivated and have the ability to give us what we want and create the squad that I want, after we will look at our academy and at players like Luke (Cundle) and if they fit for us.

“That includes the loan players and if they are ready to play for us or if they need one more year (on loan). If we don't have (the players) here in the academy or on loan then we need to find them outside.”

Blades midfielder Gibbs-White has long been at the top of Wolves’ loan watchlist, and another brilliant season with a side chasing Championship promotion has only increased his worth in the Midlands. Speaking earlier this year, Lage spoke specifically about the England under-21 international’s potential return, admitting he had tried to lure him back to Molineux in January.
