Romain Saiss says his Wolverhampton Wanderers future has ‘more or less’ been decided and now expects to leave Molineux.

The Morocco international, nicknamed the ‘Moroccan Maldini’ by head coach Bruno Lage, has been a mainstay in Wolves’ starting line-up this season. His form has dipped since March, but Lage has started the 32-year-old in all bar two of the Premier League games he has been available for.

But Saiss’s six-year stay in Wolverhampton appears to be nearing its end, despite the offer of a new contract on the table. "More or less," Saiss told Sky Sports when asked if his mind had been made up, before adding: "More away than staying.

"I think if everything is not done before the end of the season it just means it is time to go because I want to be fixed for next season. With the World Cup, I need to start the season at the right time. I need to know what will happen with me as soon as possible."

Matija Sarkic would consider a return to Birmingham City if Wolves decide to press ahead with plans to loan him out again next season. The 24-year-old has recovered from the dislocated shoulder which brought his first spell at St Andrew’s to a premature end in January.

He is back training with the Wolves squad and goalkeeping coach Tony Roberts revealed last week he would prefer the Montenegro international to spend next season out on loan rather than sat on a bench backing up Jose Sa.
