Winger sets out Nottingham Forest 'dream' as Reds face big City Ground double-header

Winger Philip Zinckernagel says it “would mean everything” to help Nottingham Forest achieve their promotion dream.

And to give themselves a chance of doing so, the Watford loanee is eager to make the most of the Reds’ remaining games at the City Ground. That starts with tonight’s clash against Coventry City, in front of another sell-out crowd.

Steve Cooper’s side are unbeaten in eight in the league, and are chasing a top-six finish. But Zinckernagel says it is also important to enjoy the run-in - as well as playing in front of the home fans, with some incredible atmosphere having been created on the banks of the Trent this year.

"It's very important we make the most of the games at the City Ground. We have a very strong home base at the moment,” said the Dane.

"With the fans and the atmosphere at the City Ground, it's difficult to come there and win. At home, I'm sure we have that belief that we can beat anyone.

"Sometimes in football, you forget to enjoy it because you are so focused and you're in it, then suddenly the season is over. You're thinking, 'wow, how fast did that go?'.

"This league is just quick. It's a tough league. You've got to be on it and enjoy every moment.

“It would be amazing to finish in the top-six. That’s the dream, that’s the goal for everyone.

“To see this club go into the Premier League would be fantastic, with the fans, the atmosphere and the buzz there is around the club. It would mean everything.

“The manager has been talking about how these last games will go so quick, so it's just really important that we be in it.

"Enjoy it, but at the same time, we can't start relaxing. Suddenly four or five games have gone and then maybe you are out of the top-six.
