Nottingham Forest came close to signing the highly-rated Uruguayan striker Martin Satriano during the January transfer window, it has been reported.
Forest were linked with a move for Satriano back in January by The Guardian as Steve Cooper looked to bolster his attacking options. Ultimately no move to England materialised for the Inter Milan forward - who eventually joined Brest on-loan - with Cooper instead signing Sam Surridge and Keinan Davis on a loan deal.
Lyle Taylor went in the other direction, joining Birmingham City until the end of the season.

A move to Forest failed to happen but Mike McGrath of The Telegraph claims Satriano "nearly joined" the Reds before moving to France on a loan move.
Satriano started his playing career with Nacional in Uruguay before joining Inter Milan in 2020 on a four-and-a-half-year deal worth £2m. He continued to impress for the Italian giants' youth sides but found opportunities to break into the first-team limited.
A tally of four goals in ten appearances for Ligue 1 outfit Brest has now resulted in even more clubs closely monitoring his development.
Arsenal and Chelsea have both previously registered an interest in the striker, whilst Manchester City, Everton and West Ham have also been named in the past. Now, however, McGrath claims that Satriano has officials at Torino, Napoli, Marseille, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid all keeping close tabs on the 21-year-old.
