Why Altay Bayindir is yet to make his Manchester United debut

Erik ten Hag is pleased with the progress of Altay Bayindir but has prioritised efforts to help fellow summer signing Andre Onana settle into life at his new club in the first weeks of the season.

United overhauled their goalkeeper department in the summer with two new signings after David de Gea was released and Dean Henderson and Nathan Bishop were both sold.

Onana has played in every competitive match since he joined the club from Inter Milan, with Bayindir restricted to a place on the bench behind him.

It had looked likely that the Turkish goalkeeper would feature against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup a week ago, but Ten Hag once again went with Onana for the match.

Asked if we could finally see a debut for the former Fenerbahçe 'keeper against Galatasaray, the United manager explained why he hadn't featured yet.

"You will see [if he plays tomorrow]," he said at his pre-match press conference. "But we chose in the League Cup to play Andre [Onana] because he [Bayindir] has to adapt to the England standard. That's why we preferred Andre to play.

"But also we have to progress Altay, that's clear. He's made a very good impression in training and he's really developing, so we're really happy with it. We are convinced we have the two right goalkeepers in the squad to do the job for us."

United's Adidas home shirt is made up of the same colour of the city's iconic red rose and features a black collar. The collar also features a dash of both red and white, giving it a slick and modernised look.

Prices start from £55
