Who is Krishnan Guru-Murthy on BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2023?
Krishnan Guru-Murthy will be a very familiar face popping up on Strictly Come Dancing from Saturday night (September 16) as the hit BBC One dance contest returns.
The Channel 4 newsreader, 53, is a heavyweight in the British media whose career spans nearly three decades. He is most well known for being the anchor for Channel 4 News as well as the frontman for the Ways to Change the World podcast.
Since getting involved with Channel 4 in 1998, he has covered some of the biggest news events in the last few years, including the 9/11 attacks and the Omagh bombing. He is also a regular face during election season where he often fronts special political programmes.

As a journalist, Krishnan has interviewed some of the most famous faces of the 21st Century, including a heated discussion with Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino. Concerns have been raised over his involvement in this year's Strictly due to his genetic heart conditions.
The newsreader told how he found the beginning of his training overwhelming. He added: "My mantra is now trying to be, don’t think. And my dance partner keeps saying, ‘Just dance, don’t think.’
"If you think while you’re dancing, you’re dead, and if you think about what you’re doing, you’re going to be overwhelmed. And it’s very easy to be overwhelmed, because everything about Strictly is overwhelming: the lights, the costumes, just the number of people in the room, the scale of the thing, so you just don’t think about it, you just go with it."
