BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans say Les Dennis 'stitched up' as they spot 'harsh' judge's comment

Strictly Come Dancing fans claimed Les Dennis was 'stitched up' after being made to perform a Samba in the second week of the new series.

Viewers have predicted that the TV presenter, who has been coupled up with professional dancer Nancy Xu, might not make it very fair in the competition after an unsuccessful first week. The former Family Fortunes host placed last with a score of 16 after the couple performed a tango to 'Don’t You Want Me' by The Human League.

It failed to impress the judges, including Craig Revel Horwood who suggested his feet were “stuck to the floor with Velcro”. But the judge did muster up one compliment telling Les that he “gave it a good go and that’s what it’s all about”.

This week, Les and Nancy returned with a sailor-themed latin dance, which saw Les lowered onto the dancefloor from the ceiling on a giant glittering anchor. The dance left viewers cringing as Les, dressed up as a sailor, awkwardly shimmied alongside his partner.

Some viewers said he had been 'stitched up' by being given what is thought to be one of the hardest dances in the show to learn due to its quick steps. "Les has been stitched up with the Samba!," one fan wrote on Twitter, while another said: "Awwww Les tried bless him. Totally stitched up."

A third commented: "I hope that if he does stay in that he'll be given a nice ballroom number next week." A fourth added: "As if they gave les a samba for week 2."
