White puts torrid Bulls six-loss run to backburner after Toulouse defeat: 'It's irrelevant'

Bulls mentor Jake White said they needed to work hard to curb their six-game losing streak but it didn't affect how they approached the rest of their season.

The Bulls were ousted from the Champions Cup by Stade Toulousain in Toulouse on Sunday (33-9) in a game that showed all their low confidence and form traits.

They couldn't get their Springboks with the Midas touch - Kurt-Lee Arendse and Canan Moodie - into the game enough for them to affect the outcome.

In all, the Bulls organisation has lost 10 matches across all competitions, including the Currie Cup, where they are winless after four rounds, despite White taking over the reins from Blue Bulls coach Edgar Marutlulle in round 2's defeat to Western Province.

The Bulls last won a game on 14 January when they beat Exeter Chiefs 39-28 at home to make the Champions Cup last 16.

White, however, said their mission was to now make the United Rugby Championship (URC) playoffs. They sit seventh, within a playoff place, on the URC table with games against Zebre and Leinster to play in the round-robin stages.

"All I do is read about that," said White when questioned about turning the ship around.

"It's something we've got to change and it will change. There's no doubt in my mind.

"What's important to understand is, when you enter a competition, if you win the first eight and lose the second eight games and get to the playoffs, you have the same number of chances as the team that wins 16 in a row and gets to the playoffs.

"This is a difficult competition, and we're obviously out of it now, but we've just got to keep working until we can turn the corner on those other ones.
