The country is currently experiencing an 'unprecedented' heatwave as Met Office warnings for extreme weather remain in place until Tuesday night.

Forecasters have said there is an 80% chance of the all-time UK temperature record of 38.7C being broken, and a 50% chance of temperatures of 40C being reached somewhere in the UK.

According to the Met Office, in Manchester temperatures are set to hit 32C on Sunday, 33C on Monday and 35C on Tuesday.

However it looks like things will cool down from Wednesday as the heatwave ends. The forecast for Wednesday in Greater Manchester is for highs of 21C with a chance of thunderstorms and rain in the morning.
