When will Celtic's Asian Cup call-ups play for Japan, South Korea and Australia? Dates, times and opponents

Celtic are in cold storage alongside their top flight rivals with the Scottish Premiership currently in its winter shutdown.

But for FIVE Hoops stars, there is no rest period as they get ready to compete with their national teams at the Asian Cup. Brendan Rodgers will have to contend with the absences of the quintet when the champions return to competitive action but with the January transfer window in full swing, it will also offer the 50-year-old the chance to add to his ranks.

Daizen Maeda and the returning Reo Hatate are in the Japan squad for the tournament - but Kyogo Furuhashi has been left out in a major boost to his club side but a blow to the player on a personal level. South Korea have called on the services of striker Oh Hyeon-gyu and wide man Hyunjun Yang while Marco Tilio, despite his lack of first team action, has been named as part of Australia's group. Naturally, the involvement of the five players will deplete the Celtic squad and they could miss a number of games depending on how long they stay involved at the Asian Cup. The Asian Cup gets up and running on Friday, January 12. The group stage runs from the opening game until Thursday, January 25.
