When Ruben Amorim's first game in charge of Manchester United will be after manager appointment

Ruben Amorim has been confirmed as Manchester United's new manager, just four days after the club sacked Erik ten Hag.

The Portuguese manager will take charge of the club on November 11 after a successful four years in charge of Sporting CP that saw him win two Portuguese Primeira Liga titles.

He now will make the move to Old Trafford during the November international break, meaning Ruud van Nistelrooy will remain in interim charge of the club for the next three matches against Chelsea, PAOK and Leicester City.

Amorim had a release clause which contained working a notice period but United have managed to negotiate his arrival three weeks before that notice period was set to end.

As such, he will remain in charge of Sporting for their next three matches against Estrela Amadora, Manchester City and Braga.

It means the 39-year-old will take charge of United for the first time on Sunday, November 24, when United make the trip to Ipswich Town in the Premier League.

Amorim will be tasked with reviving United's fortunes in the league, with the club currently languishing in 14th in the Premier League table.

He will also look to kickstart United's Europa League campaign, with Ten Hag failing to win any of their first three matches in the competition.

Amorim will also inherit a side in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup and will have an immediate chance to win a trophy in his first season at the club.
