Jamie Carragher makes surprise Manchester United prediction amid Ruben Amorim verdict

Jamie Carragher believes that the job of Manchester United manager is actually 'alluring' for top coaches like Ruben Amorim - despite the challenges many have succumbed to in recent years.

Amorim's move from Sporting CP has been confirmed. However, the 39-year-old will not make the switch to Old Trafford until the upcoming November international break.

However, he has definitely proven himself more than worthy of major role in European football having won two league titles in five years with his current team, though the task at Old Trafford isn't like any other he could hope to face. Before him reputable manager after reputable manager have stumbled and the club seem to find themselves back at square one, the gap to their rivals only growing.

But that said, Carragher has a surprisingly positive outlook on United for the club's supporters, considering everything that has happened up to this point plus the fact he can be called a Liverpool legend.

"One of the reasons the United job is so alluring right now is because every top coach working in Europe will have been watching their games for the past 15 months and believed they could organise the same set of players to perform much better," he wrote for The Telegraph. "There is talent there with no evidence of world-class coaching to get the most from them.

Carragher then speaks of the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, which has seen the likes of Louis Van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and now Erik ten Hag enter. Each have won silverware, but he says not enough before ultimately failing in their task to turn the team into true title challengers.
