Naoya Inoue and Stephen Fulton are set to clash in a unified super bantamweight world title fight this week.
‘The Monster’ Inoue is moving up after vacating his four belts and undisputed status at bantamweight. The undefeated Inoue signed off his reign at 118lbs with a TKO victory over England’s Paul Butler, back in December; his 21st stoppage win in 24 fights.
He will come up against Stephen Fulton, who holds both the WBC and WBO belts at super bantamweight. Fulton moved to 21-0 when he defended both his world titles against Daniel Roman in June.
However, one of those unbeaten streaks will be expected to end later this week when the rescheduled clash between pound-for-pound star Inoue and super bantamweight champion Fulton finally takes place.
