What Txiki Begiristain has told Pep Guardiola about Man City transfer plans

Pep Guardiola has been given assurances on Manchester City's squad for next season despite uncertainty over the summer transfer window.

The Blues rounded off another successful season on a disappointing note on Saturday when they were beaten by neighbours United in the FA Cup Final. As most of the squad head off to the European Championship, there are questions over how much change there will be in the squad for next season.

As usual, a number of the Premier League champions have attracted interest from other clubs and stalwarts of the team Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Ederson, and Kyle Walker all have suitors. Savio is expected to sign from City Football Group sister club Troyes, and may not be the only addition - although more incomings may be dependent on outgoings.

Guardiola admitted after the FA Cup Final that the club are waiting on whether certain players will choose to stay with them or leave this summer. However, he has also been told by sporting director Txiki Begiristain that they are in good shape for going into next season.

"I don’t know right now. I know some players have to take a decision on whether they stay with us, some players might come," he said. "I’m really pleased with the team, how they’ve behaved all season. I could not say differently.

"It was nice to be in this final, unfortunately we lose, but after what we did in the Premier League and the Champions League. People say every season we have to win trebles and doubles – we are good but we are not that good.
