What time do Black Sabbath general sale tickets for Villa Park go on sale today
Fans who are yet to secure their tickets to Black Sabbath's huge gig at Villa Park will have another chance this morning as the general sale gets underway.
This summer, Ozzy Osbourne, Bill Ward, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler are getting the band back together for the final Black Sabbath show, which will take place on home turf at Villa Park in Aston, Birmingham. The show is set for Saturday, July 5 and there's a massive supporting line-up too, including Metallica, Alice and Chains and Anthrax.
Over the course of this week a number of presales for took place, but as expected for a gig of this scale, they were snapped up quickly. Today, (February 14), fans will have another chance as the general sale gets underway on Livenation and Ticketmaster.
On Tuesday morning, more people queued for tickets than there were spots available at the 40,000 capacity venue - showing just how popular the reunion gig has been with fans. It was much the same on Wednesday and Thursday when the 02 Priority and Live National presales took place.
The gig was confirmed a couple of weeks ago when Sharon Osbourne and Tony Iommi announced that the original Black Sabbath would play for the first time in 20 years. The band will take to the stage to headline Back to the Beginning which will celebrate the true creators of heavy metal and will see Ozzy Osbourne play his own short set before joining with Black Sabbath for his final bow.
“It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning….time for me to give back to the place where I was born,” Ozzy Osbourne said when the show was confirmed.
"How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”
