What the Rangers pundits said as Michael Stewart declares Todd Cantwell 'unhappy' at full time

Rangers are in to the Viaplay Cup final but usually-integral Todd Cantwell didn't contribute much to the semi-final win.

The Englishman was hooked at half time by Gers boss Philippe Clement who went on to reveal that the decision to replace the 25-year-old with Scott Wright, who went on to score in the second half and earn the foul that led to James Tavernier's stunning third goal, was a tactical one after the former Norwich City man went in to Nick Walsh's book for a clumsy tackle on Alex Cochrane.

And getting a bird's eye view at Hampden was pundit Michael Stewart, who claimed at full time that Cantwell did "not look happy" while the wild Rangers celebrations ensued as the Light Blues went in to next's month showdown with Rangers. Former Ibrox defender Alan Hutton reckons it was the right call either way but that Wright has now given his Belgian boss something to think about.

Before Clement gave his interview to Viaplay, Stewart said: "Todd Cantwell going off at half time, and I'm unsure whether it was an injury, the yellow or Clement being unhappy with his performance but he (Cantwell) didn't look particularly happy at the end of the game. It will be interesting to see what the reason was."

Clement then confirmed it was a tactical move to bring off his attacking midfielder, with Hutton responding by saying: "He's not scared to make the big decisions (Clement). You look at Cantwell, he's a big player for Rangers with what he does and what he brings but he felt he needed to make a change and it was the right change.
