What Manchester United's 20-man squad for 2024/25 Premier League season could look like
Manchester United are close to completing deals to sign Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.
De Ligt and Mazraoui were spotted dining in Manchester hot spot Sexy Fish in Spinningfields on Monday night and United are expected to announce the deals imminently.
United needed to strengthen their backline after the departure of Raphael Varane and De Ligt arrives with European pedigree after playing for Bayern, Juventus and Ajax.
Mazraoui is being signed due to concerns about the full-back position at United. The Morocco international is versatile and can play on both sides of the defence, which makes him an attractive option amid continued doubts over the fitness of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

Shaw last played for United against Luton Town on February 18 when he sustained a muscle injury that ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign.
The 29-year-old was still included in the England squad for Euro 2024 and made his first appearance at the tournament at the quarter-final stage. However, Shaw wasn't fit enough to make the United squad against Manchester City in the Community Shield last weekend.
United fans have grown tired of Shaw's injury struggles and a few supporters on the train down to London on Saturday were overheard saying he must be replaced.
Malacia last played a competitive fixture for the Netherlands in June 2023 and Erik ten Hag recently confirmed he should return from his lengthy lay-off due to a knee problem in October.
Mazraoui will provide Shaw with competition for his starting role at left-back, providing he's fit, and can start at right-back if
