What Everton boss Sean Dyche said on FFP, points deduction and what Manchester United can expect on Sunday

Everton boss Sean Dyche said the club were shocked by their 10 point deduction and has warned Manchester United that they will face a focused team and a unified atmosphere when the sides meet on Sunday.

The Toffees welcome Erik ten Hag's side to Goodison Park in their first game since they were docked 10 points for breaching Premier League Financial Fair Play rules. It has sent Everton spiralling down the table to 19th.

Toffees fans are planning protests before and during the game against United on Sunday and the atmosphere is expected to be fervent. And Dyche believes the decision, which he and the club feel aggrieved by, can serve to unite Everton moving forward and foster an us against the world mentality.

"From our point of view, I've been searching for that mentality regardless.," Dyche said. "That inner belief system that we take everything on regardless of the noise around us.

"I think like everyone in these parts is, we're shocked. Seemingly the wave of noise after that was most people in football were shocked. The enormity of it. Disproportionate is a word that has been used by the club.

"Obviously we're going to feel aggrieved by that. On the other hand it doesn't change the focus. The focus since I've been here has been about sorting things out on the pitch.

"Getting the team to win, getting the team to feel different, performances to be different. We were obviously on the right lines for that and delivering strong performances.
