What Darren Moore said on Barry Bannan, tactics and Jack Hunt's omission against Sunderland

I have played here loads of times as a player and come here as a manager. When the crowd gets up like that, it is a difficult place.

We didn't use the ball as well as we could have done but you have to give Sunderland credit. They put a lot of energy into the game and didn't allow us to use the ball.

They worked and pressed us really well tonight.

' Very lucky' - Sheffield Wednesday fans all say same thing after 1-0 first leg Sunderland defeat

It is a difficult place to come. It is not easy under a full house underneath the lights.

The positives are the boys were dogged and stayed in the game. They put their bodies on the line.

I was disappointed with the goal. It was avoidable.

The pleasing thing is we were dogged. After 60 to 65 minutes, I felt the energy in the pitch changed. We finished the game a lot stronger. We managed to work a few patterns without looking really that threatening. We could have used the ball better.

I said to them at half-time 'we don't concede again, make sure you do your jobs.'

I don't think we were conservative. Right from the off, we knew it was going to be that way. The crowd were up and they were at us.

That is play-off football for you.

The game was exactly how I thought it would. We know it is a difficult place to come and you have to try and keep the crowd quiet.

From one minute your speech is a certain way...but then it turned around and it is not allowing the disappointment spill over to the second half.

It was about keeping the team level headed.

If we had gone in at 0-0, then the onus would have been on them and your team-talk is a bit different.

The talk at half-time was we had that disappointment in conceding but you have got 15 minutes to settle them down, regroup and reset.
