What Callum McGregor told Celtic stars to inspire Rangers win as behind scenes footage reveals tactic that paid off

Callum McGregor leads by example and the Celtic captain's pre-match huddle against Rangers shows the clear plan the champions had to win.

Brendan Rodgers and his men outsmarted Michael Beale and Co on their home turf with Kyogo Furuhashi smashing the ball home from outside the area just before the interval in a 1-0 win at Ibrox. There were no travelling fans in the ground to celebrate, but the overwhelming noise from full time was from disconcerting Rangers fans towards their side as they made their frustrations know. It means the champions got one over on their bitter rivals again and went four points clear of the Light Blues.

And McGregor, who led his side out in the heat of battle, was keen to stress some important tactical messages before the big fixture on Sunday. In Celtic's 'On the Road' clip posted to the club's Youtube channel, an inside look at the afternoon in Govan was released and it shows the 30-year-old making a key observation to the player's about a Rangers weakness to exploit.

He can be heard saying in a pre-match huddle as the player's warm up: "We can go outside to come back inside, get the ball more central, the only time you don't have a pass is when they're man for man. And then we go, Daizen, Kyogo, Abada over the top and in."
