Feyenoord told Celtic Champions League solution to striker panic as sneering pundit declares Hoops 'won't have the ball'

Confident Karim El Ahmadi has moved to cool panic over Feyenoord's striker crisis going into the Champions League - because Celtic will have so little of the ball .

Forward Ayase Ueda has added to a looming selection crisis going into the opening group stage fixture against the Scottish Premiership champions after picking up an injury while on international duty with Japan. Boss Arne Slot has already been dealt a blow with first-choice Santiago Gimenez suspended for the first two group stage games - leaving youngster Calvin Stengs as the only fit and available forward when they welcome the Parkhead outfit.

But former Feyenoord star turned pundit El Ahmadi has played down concerns over the lack of firepower heading into Europe's elite competition as he played down the threat that Brendan Rodgers pose in the Netherlands. He told ESPN: "Against Celtic at home, Feyenoord will have the ball a lot. Celtic just won't have the ball.

"If you then put Minteh or Paixão in the striker, they will not get a lot of space. At home against Celtic you may have to look for a Stengs as a false striker. You could play without a striker.

He was then pressed on how he would expect the Dutch champions to line up. The Moroccan added: "Paixao on the left, Ivanušec as striker, Minteh on the right and then Stengs behind it."
