What Aston Villa fans chanted at Kalvin Phillips amid fresh Leeds United transfer claim

Aston Villa put Leeds United to the sword on Thursday night as Steven Gerrard's side swept away their hosts 3-0 at Elland Road.

Goals from Philippe Coutinho, Matty Cash and Calum Chambers saw off a Leeds side fighting for their lives at the foot of the Premier League table.

Villa dampened the mood inside Elland Road during the first half thanks to Coutinho's 22nd minute opener, after home supporters rallied behind new boss Jesse Marsch who was managing his first home game since being appointed as Marcelo Bielsa's successor last month.

The defeat leaves Leeds in a perilous position in the Premier League, with just two points separating them and Burnley in the drop zone.

They now face four crucial matches against Norwich, Wolves, Southampton and Watford, all games which will have a large bearing on their fate come May.

Reports claim that Leeds could be set to lose some key players in the summer, whichever division they find themselves in next season.

Villa are said to be big admirers of Leeds captain Kalvin Phillips, and he could be more attainable in the event that the Whites are relegated to the Championship.

The Daily Mail report Leeds are "braced" for offers for Phillips this summer regardless of whether they stay up or not, with the player injured for most of the campaign.

During the 3-0 win in midweek, Villa fans were heard chanting at Phillips from the away end as the clock ticked down in the second half.

Villa supporters were chanting: "Kalvin Phillips, he's coming to us."
